Hello there… And if you are in the States, Happy Thanksgiving!
I want to share an incredibly inspiring story with you about something that happened last week… A moment that meant more to me at last week’s Mindset Retreat than just about anything.
I want to share it because it speaks to this Thanksgiving Day and it speaks to what Gandhi said:
“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.”
Last week, 400 incredible, determined spirits raised $117,733 in under 90 minutes so that more girls in Africa would be able to write a letter like the one above.
This money we raised together will allow another four communities (in addition to the 16 we’ve already raised money for) in sub-Saharan Africa to receive enough support from us and the Unstoppable Foundation to build brand new schools for their children. And bring clean drinking water to their villages in the Maasai Mara of Kenya. And medical care which is currently non-existent. And professional education to their parents, so they can make a living. And agricultural education so they learn how to grow crops and keep hunger and poverty at bay.
I’ve been to Kenya with my daughter to meet these people. They are the kindest, warmest, most happy people I’ve ever met, even with their current circumstances.
These 4 communities have been on the waiting list for years. And now we’re taking them off the waiting list and will start building soon.
And these schools…
They will change everything for these children and families. The young girls I met in Africa who came by the hundreds to thank me in person are now in their last year of high school (this is unheard of in this part of the world) and are planning on attending college (also unheard of) to become doctors, civil engineers, attorneys to help their people, etc.
The ripple effect of this kind of movement is endless.
So on Thanksgiving, I would like to remind you that giving is the greatest doorway to receiving… Far more than we can imagine.
Whatever your cause, give with love and gratitude.
I am especially grateful to the following attendees of The Mindset Retreat who joined Derek and me, by generously giving thousands of dollars to support the building of these 4 new schools.
Tracy Harrison (Our top donor!!! Wooohooo!!!)
Heather James
Terri Taylor
Cortney Chaite
Fabienne Swartz
Leanne Glenn-Clark
And Carisa Jones…
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your generosity and love.
As I mentioned above, I have been to these communities. I have seen the joy in these children’s eyes and their adorable sadness that they aren’t allowed to go to school on Saturdays.
It is incredible to feel so alive and to know that we’re making a very real difference.
Together, we are changing lives.
And I can’t think of a better thing to be grateful for.
With love,
Fabienne
P.S. I believe that we are here, in this Boldheart tribe of ours, to do great things together. Yes, we talk about making more money, getting more clients, having a successful business and playing a bigger game. But why? I’ve long realized that although it’s nice to have a big house or a fancy car, and those things are certainly lovely… it’s about much more than that. It’s about putting our heads on the pillow at the end of our lives and saying, “I made a difference.” If this cause speaks to you, you can absolutely contribute, too.
