From transactions to meaningful legacy

I don’t get a ton of quiet moments in my life (I mean, I have 3 kids, so that says it all)…

…but it’s only in the last few years that I have started to really think about what *really* makes me happy in my life and in my business.

About what I’m here to do and what lights my heart up, you know?

Maybe it’s because I’m getting tired of compromising and settling (you too)?

And today, I want to nudge you to stop settling for “just okay.”

This week’s inspiration, if you’re willing to go along for the ride with me, is to look at the idea of no longer going through the motions in your life (and in this case, in your business).

I deeply, fiercely believe we all have the capacity to do life-changing work through the business we started, no matter how long we’ve had it. Yes, YOU, and me, and the person you met recently that seems completely unassuming. We have a serious life’s purpose.

Today’s inspiration (of you stepping into your life purpose and greatness, I hope) begins with your experiences as a child. And it can make your business infinitely more profitable. I say more in today’s video about going beyond “Thank you for your money, here you go with what I promised you” and into your calling, mission and purpose. Watch this:

So, here’s the deal…the greatest challenge in your business can easily be turned into your greatness and big (loving) business opportunity.

It requires that you go beyond the “transactional” and take your personal early-life challenges, struggles and experiences and allow them to impact others and even to impact the world, in the most positive way, while growing your business.

Whether you’re like my lovely Leverage Track client (thank you for letting me keep her and her business anonymous, as she’s kind of private) whose story I shared about an opportunity to create an 8-figure company culture of self-esteem and self-worth, or you’re more like me with a desire to create, through your business, some of what you lacked in your childhood, I know that when we make our business an extension of our life’s purpose, our business operates at a much, much higher level and “feeds” people like never before.

Instead of going through the motions in your business, you can inject meaning and fulfillment by adding layers of value that people don’t expect, and that are deeply resonant for you.

In my case, I started looking at my greatest pain in childhood, not feeling accepted or feeling like I belonged anywhere, and I started weaving acceptance and non-judgment by creating the tribe I never had as a child or even as an adult.

Today, my business flourishes, not just because of the expected value that I give, but also because of this. I had a glimpse of it 10 years ago, but never knew it would be my “secret sauce” the way it is today. And, wouldn’t you know it, time and time again, my Team hears that it is the Tribe (fiercely loving, supportive and extremely generous community) that transforms our members’ results beyond the systems we teach them.

Um. Not what I would have guessed 20 years ago. But happy it happened.

So, this Thanksgiving week in the United States, will you do the following exercise?

Please look within your life for the “clues” that inform what “it” is for you (I share how in the video!) and then consider how you might weave this throughout your business.

This is how to grow massively, with heart. Yes, others may do it by taking from others, by being inauthentic, out of integrity and certainly not from love.

But not us.

WE, and by “we,” I mean you and me and our tribe of big hearted business owners who (by the way) are not about staying small, the tribe you belong to and the one I’d like you to be a part of.

This is how “we” change lives. And I believe that this is the path to real, honest fulfillment. The kind of fulfillment that comes from the truth that we made a difference through our lives.

So much love to you,
Fabienne

P.S. Maybe you don’t know what your life’s purpose is yet or what the path to greatly growing your business is. That’s OK. We can usually help you with that. If you can’t figure it out on your own, let’s talk, OK? Here’s a video I made for you that explains how we can chat together to help you.

In the end, I just want you to be the fullest expression of who you really are on this planet, life’s purpose and all. What’s the point otherwise? xoxo

Hey, you rock, btw. ;)

P.P.S. Go ahead and share this quote:

You've known for some time that a transformation is needed for you to grow your business, income and impact.

  1. This was a great video and reminder of the work we “get to” do when we live what our heart pulls us to do XO

  2. The challenges you describe of you Leverage client, are similar to mine. :) I have known I want to do something like you describe, now I look forward to finding out how to do it! You are always speaking to me, I am listening now! :)

  3. We get to do this! How thrilling a thought and an even better feeling. Thank you Fabienne for continuing to be a shining example of following your heart in your business (and life)!

  4. Hi, Fabs! This video really resonated with me. The growth of Pet Nanny is completely reliant on the people that work for me. for 17 years I’ve used independent contractors but will be switching to them to employees in 2018. I think this is the first logical step in starting to create a company culture like the one you described in your video. Apart from that, I’m feeling stuck. Do you have any there resources that would help me get started with this? Miss and love you! Colleen

      1. They employees won’t be full-time. (Hopefully this will change as the new culture emerges and matures.) There are so many legalities with IC’s. I was unable to provide them with any type of training. I was unable to have company meetings. There was a very fine line of me being able to manage them. By switching to employees I can create a training program, I can meet with them regularly and I can manage them so that I can ensure they are living up to company standards. Another upside is that I’m able to offer benefits like worker’s comp, unemployment, paid-time off, access to affordable health care and a 401K. I’m hoping these changes with being me better and more committed people to work for my company.
