Thriving beyond survival

How to overcome the feeling of overwhelm.

Let’s talk about thriving beyond survival mode in your business.

In every business, at different times of a business, you inevitably experience exhaustion and overwhelm. The hard truth is that there will be moments when you feel like giving it all up because it just feels like too much.

And you might find yourself wondering if it’s all worth it.

But at the same time, you don’t want to give it up because you realize that, like me and all of our members at Boldheart, you are unemployable. You’re an entrepreneur at heart, and you know you have to figure out how to overcome this sense of overwhelm.

The thing is, there’s a mindset shift that needs to be had here. One that will help you learn to take a break from the stress, and teach you the importance of doing so.

Watch this video to learn how to overcome the feeling of overwhelm in business:

Overcome the feeling of overwhelm by resting

Firstly, feeling overwhelmed is entirely normal and expected.

And I want to remind you that this is because businesses are cyclical.

Just like the weather, it’s never sunny or rainy 24/7. There are cycles and seasons in every business – that’s just the natural order of things. You can get the right help, implement the right systems, and do everything “right,” but you can’t completely avoid these cycles.

So how do you thrive beyond survival mode?

The solution might surprise you in its simplicity: Allow yourself some time to rest.

This might be the simplest business advice you’ve ever received, but sometimes the most profound solutions are the simplest.

Sometimes it’s time to hibernate. Not for a quarter, not for a month, but maybe just for one day. Stop all of your action, and allow yourself to rest.

I know it might sound crazy, and counterintuitive, but resting is crucial in allowing yourself to recharge so you can mentally step away from the stress to refocus and ground yourself.

Here’s the thing: if you’re working in panic mode, you’re only going to produce panicky results. Your business is going to reflect your mindset.

Ground yourself to avoid overwhelm

So, try to stop everything, just for a day. Cancel your appointments. Say no to some of the things on your plate. Tell your to-do list it has to wait.

Take this day to journal, light some candles, take a bath, anything that will simply quiet your mind.

If you’re a spiritual person like me, maybe you pull some oracle cards or talk to the divine. The key is to rest and allow yourself to just be.

We have been conditioned in a culture of “doing” that the only way to get results is to “do”.

Instead, I want you to just “be”.

The process of scaling and growing your business doesn’t have to involve sacrificing your life and happiness. In fact, it should make your life infinitely easier. But you do have to allow yourself to rest and recharge every once in a while.

Thriving beyond survival for business growth

Maybe you need this right now, maybe you’ll need this six months down the line. But remember my words: you cannot try to plant a seed in cement. Trying to take action when you’re exhausted is not going to work.

To create fertile ground for your ideas, you need to replenish your energy.

  • Feed the oil lamp so you have more energy to shine.
  • Rest. Embrace your feminine energy.
  • Trust that you can take action later, and when you do, it will be from a place of strength and clarity, not panic and exhaustion.

I want you to be able to go forward in your business not just by surviving, but thriving.

Sure, it’s “possible” to do, do, do, but you won’t get very far without taking a day every once in a while to ground and reconnect with yourself.

I know as entrepreneurs, we tend to have so many ideas and so much on our plate. But neglecting the importance of taking a step back from the overwhelm is going to stop you from being in the right mindset to run your business to its fullest potential.

Something we teach our members in my signature program is that your mindset is just as important, if not more, than the actions you take to get bigger results. You can’t achieve true growth in your business if your mindset isn’t in the right place.

This is about doing less, but doing it better. Leverage your energy wisely, and you’ll find that you can achieve way more in the long run.

The to-do list isn’t going anywhere. So, just take a rest when you need to. And see how much better you feel afterwards.
