OK, so today I am sharing a very personal story about the art of making decisions…(a secret I briefly kept from my husband Derek that made me a million dollars in 12 months).
You might judge me for this one, but I knew in my heart that I was making the right decision, even though it looked “crazy” to most people.
Some background first.
What you may not know about me is that, in the first few years of being self-employed, I voraciously consumed everything that was called “manifestation”, Law of Attraction, The Science of Getting Rich, the Psychology of Success, quantum physics, the study of Universal Laws, and all that yummy goodness.
Everything I read pointed me to how important is it to…
1) Know what you want.
2) Be decisive about taking the actions that will bring you what you want!
The way that I created real results (multiple 6 figures, hundreds of clients I love and thousands of customers each year, being at multiple 7 figures for 10 years now) came from getting those two things straight.
That’s when I realized that…
…being successful is simply a matter of knowing how to make a decision as it relates to your intended goal.
But not just any decision, no. It must be a decision that’s made with:
I learned that it’s the “kinda sortas” that will keep you super-stuck every time.
That “wishy washy” is the enemy!
Maybe you’ve been experiencing disappointing business results in your business. It’s probably not happening fast enough.
Then let me tell you a secret about something I did without consulting Derek.
I want to take you back to 2008. I had just come back from a conference where I’d made a huuuuuge investment without telling Derek.
Here’s a reenactment of the conversation where I told him about my decision…and just a heads up, there is a touch of profanity, so if there are kids around, distract them for 5 minutes, OK? 😉
I had spent 100K on a coaching program.
But I was convinced it would work.
And I was going to work like hell to make back at least twice my investment over time.
And guess what?
I worked my butt off in that program. I hustled. And I made back (more than) double what I invested, exactly as I knew I would.
You see, I spoke to him with certainty about the fact that the investment might pay off.
I embodied my conviction at the deepest level.
And I made a commitment to do whatever it would take to get the results.
Perhaps you’re just starting out in your business, and making good money serving a lot of wonderful people sounds like a long way away for you, but guess what?
