Scaling a business? Then you need systems to scale

Scaling a business to its next big level requires a totally different approach than the one you’ve had so far.

That may sound like bad news. But it’s actually really good news.

Here’s the thing: Everything that you’ve done up until now to get to this level has produced this level of results, right?

But maybe you’re working a bit too hard. Sacrificing too much, stretching yourself too thin, giving up too much of your personal time to give your all to your business.

You might be at a stagnation point. And there comes a point in your business where you need to realize that what got you here isn’t going to get you to where you want to be.

The thing is, the marketing, teams, and systems (or lack thereof) that you currently have are creating these results.

It might be time to ask yourself what needs to change in order to accommodate for and accomplish those big goals you want to reach.

Reflecting in order to scale

Scaling a business requires a bit of change in your model. And the trick with this, is that less is more.

When it comes to scaling your business, quality always trumps quantity. Instead of spreading yourself thin and trying to do everything at once, it’s about optimizing every aspect of your business for maximum impact, with minimal effort.

Here’s what I want you to ask yourself:

  • Is my current team equipped to handle the demands of a business 10 times the size of mine right now?
  • Are my current systems and processes scalable enough to support exponential growth?
  • Is my current business model capable of accommodating a significantly larger amount of clients?

If the answer to any of these questions is no, then I need you to figure out what it is that you need to change in order to support the growth you’re after.

Scaling a business isn’t about doing more of the same – it’s about recognizing that what got you here won’t necessarily get you further.

Reverse engineering your goals

So how do you go about changing things in order to scale your business?

  1. Look at what might be missing with your current team, systems, and general business model. What could you change, shift, add on that would make processes run more smoothly, allowing your business to support a much larger client base?
  2. Set new targets. Look at where you want your business to be, and reverse engineer those goals to figure out what steps you can take along the way to reach that target. Breaking your goal down into smaller milestones makes it much easier to take on.
  3. Understand that with unprecedented growth like this comes change. Be open to the idea of letting go of old processes and systems, knowing it’s helping you make space for success.

Scaling a business by doing less, better

‘It will require that you do less, better. It will require looking at every single aspect of your business and saying, “Is what I have right now sufficient for me to get to 10x my business?”’

It all begins with a mindset shift, my friend.

This is about saying to yourself, “You know what? I have to make some changes here because more of the same will create more of the same.”

Not only are you making your business more efficient, but by focusing on doing less better, you’re setting yourself up for long-term success while gaining your time and your life back.

That is your new approach to scaling a business.
