One thing that inspires me endlessly about us entrepreneurs is how truly gifted we are when it comes to innovation, ideas and inspiration.
Most of us are what I call ‘high idea generators’!
What I also know is…
…on the other side of these incredible gifts is often a real struggle with following through on the steps needed to make those big ideas happen.
But it doesn’t have to get in the way of exponential business growth. There is a solution, and it is rather revolutionary, even if it sounds simple at first.
To move the needle on your big business ideas, it usually requires two things. You will need:
1. Structure for your entrepreneurial nature
2. A team to help bring your ideas to life
Implementing a structure to fully execute your ideas and getting the help of a team are cornerstones of our signature program: it’s all about leveraging your accountability to get those big goals over the finish line.
The key to implementing so many more of your business ideas is to
- reverse engineer your goals
- get organized
- and create some structure and accountability to actually get things done.
First, setting an annual revenue goal is good. Breaking your annual revenue goal into four main activities to focus on (one for each quarter of the 12 months) is good. But a quarterly action plan makes it likelier to actually happen.
Why do you not work on all four at the same time? You can, but I don’t recommend it.
When you’re working on too many projects at the same time, you delay the completion of most of the projects on your plate. And completion is what we’re after.
What has helped our members get exponential results is to assign a particular project or quarterly activity to each quarter. Then, create a project planner for each one.
Your project planner could be printed or digital, you could buy a template or make your own, whatever you prefer. But you’ll want it to have space to record a single goal, specific action steps and a timeline to keep track.
Getting as clear as you can on each action step to complete a project will make it a lot easier to delegate to your team to get help.
Once you’ve got everything plotted for your four exponential growth activities, you can move all of these steps and projects to your project management software. Again, whatever works for you, as long as it gets done!
You could even have your team move this over for you, depending on who you have to help. Then it’s time to bring the them in to make it happen!
