Today I’m dropping in with some valuable advice about the decision-making process of highly successful people (my experience after yeeeeeaaaaars of making bad choices).
I’ve noticed something about people who make really good money in their business, women who create a big impact and who’ve created a life (and personal income) they love.
These are people who make decisions from where they want to be as opposed to their current situation. Here’s what I mean:
There are times when I’ll say to our members, “It’s time that you hire somebody to help you.”
And often they’ll say, “I don’t have the money right now,” no matter how well they’re doing.
You’ve thought that too, right?
Here’s what I really want you to get:
It’s not a question about the money that you have right now. It’s about focusing on the money you’re going to make as a result of hiring the person you need.
You see, people who aren’t successful look at every reason why they can’t do something. They look at what they would have to give up to make something happen as opposed to what they would have to gain by doing so.
Am I right??
Whereas successful people make decisions based on where they want to be and their future projection of where they want to go.
I want you to think about this quote from Wayne Gretzky, the famous Canadian ice hockey player who said, “I don’t skate to where the puck has been. I skate to where the puck is going to be.”
That’s how I want you to think about the decisions that you make in your business going forward.
Where do you want to be? And if you were magically already there, what kind of decisions would you be making?
Making decisions from your past thinking isn’t going to bring you anywhere new. Let’s have you make decisions (and get the help you need) for where you want to be.
For example: Have you known for some time that you’re not progressing fast enough in your business because you’re overwhelmed with what to do and you don’t know exactly what your next steps should be? Then it’s likely time to learn what you don’t know that you don’t know from someone who’s already there, who can show you exactly how to grow quickly and efficiently, so you stop wasting time and money.
Make the decision to invest in learning from someone who’s done it, rather than someone who is at your level. It’s really that simple. And it pays for itself in no time. All it takes is a decision to stop living from your past and instead, live from your future.
That is how we get successful in business and in life.
